The Training Maze (originally known as Teletubby Training Maze) is a recurring location within the Slendytubbies franchise.

It was initially established as a special location featuring four different enemies, before becoming a regular single-enemy location. The maze consists only of grey metal walls with an empty and more spacious room in its center.

It is unknown what is the role of the maze in the lore of the Slendytubbies series, nor where it is located compared to other places. The maze was very likely meant to be non-canon as it contained enemies from several places. Its appearance in Slendytubbies III, however, leads to ambiguous relevance.

Appearances[]

Slendytubbies II[]

The Training Maze makes its first appearance in Slendytubbies II, added with Update V1.4. The maze contains a large central room with a single entry. It is roamed by; Lake Dipsy, Laa-Laa, Po, and a single New Born, who will eventually come closer to one another. In Versus mode, the host of the game plays as Po.

Slendytubbies 2D[]

The Training Maze makes a comeback in Slendytubbies 2D. It contains a central room serving as the starting location and leading to three different paths. The room is protected by red lasers preventing enemies from entering.

It is roamed by: The Crawler, the Cave Tubby, Po, and a single New Born. In Versus mode, the host of the game plays as a New Born, accompanied by the Crawler and another New Born.

Slendytubbies III[]

The Training Maze returns in the Multiplayer mode of Slendytubbies III, added with Update V1.20. It is roamed by the Arrow Tubby, contains an outpost in the middle zone, and is smaller than in previous games. Attempting to jump over a wall will automatically cause the player to be killed.

Since Update V2.2, the maze from Slendytubbies II have been ported to Slendytubbies III, under a ST2 section. The enemies are the same as in the original game. In the Survival mode, Lake Dipsy and Laa-Laa act as two bosses.

Trivia[]

Slendytubbies II[]

  • The ambience is the same as in Secret Lair but at 0.5x speed. It is shared with Secret Center.
  • Once attracted, all enemies would get stuck near the maze entry if one of the players stayed in that zone. This was fixed in V2.0.
  • According to Sean Toman, this map was a disaster.
  • As seen in a video uploaded by the user MacEvil, it is possible to beat the map by collecting all 25 custards without attracting enemies, seeing them or even hearing them nearby.
  • You play as Po in Versus mode.

Slendytubbies 2D[]

  • It is the only time in the whole series where the player is accompanied by other enemies in Versus mode.
    • Including the second New Born from Versus Mode, the Training Maze from this game features the highest amount of enemies, with a total of five.

Slendytubbies III[]

  • Despite being designated as a “medium” map, the Training Maze is one of the smallest locations in the game.
  • Since V.1295, the ambience is shared with the Research Lab.
  • The S2 ported version is one of the two locations to feature a pair of bosses in Survival mode. The other is Cabin.
