You’re my bestest friend!

The Yeti Tubby, also known as the Mountain Tubby[1], is a secondary antagonist of the Slendytubbies series.

According to notes that can be found in the Cave, the Yeti Tubby was an experiment subject along with friends of his; the Cave Tubby and the Arrow Tubby[3]. One day, one from the Best Friends Trio turned into a monster[4], one ran away[4], and the one who had written the notes presumably got killed.

His droid servant states that he escaped from the Main Land[5], meaning that he is presumably the one from the trio who ran away.

Physical Appearance[]

The Yeti Tubby is a large cyan teletubby with spiky hair, wearing shoulder pads made out of white fur and gloves of the same material. He has a bluish pale face with empty-looking eyes and sharp teeth on the sides of his mouth.

Prior to his mutation, the Mountain Tubby looked like any healthy teletubby. On his pre-mutation, he has a pale face with empty-looking eyes, and blood on his left arm and leg. He was already wearing his accessories.

Personality[]

Very little is known about the Yeti Tubby since he is currently an infected: he does not seem to have any personality. However, he shows signs of intelligence, such as having the ability to imitate an innocent and childlike voice to lure his prey. He also appears to be able to reason, for it is said that he has accepted to spare the droid that is now serving him. All these listed traits make him the smartest example of known infected teletubbies.

Appearances[]

Slendytubbies 2D[]

The Yeti Tubby makes his first appearance in Slendytubbies 2D. He appears as the threat in the Mountains.

Like several other enemies, the Mountain Tubby constantly stalks the player from the beginning of the game. Once he reaches a certain radius ― larger than most of the other enemies ― he will scream and accelerate as long as the player remains close by. He emits child-sounding voices, alerting collectors of his presence. His walking speed is slightly faster than the player's, and he decelerates from a further radius, which makes him the most tenacious enemy of the game.

Slendytubbies III[]

Please, the master will destroy me if it found out I let you go.

— Unit 437

The Yeti Tubby reappears in Slendytubbies III, in both Campaign and Multiplayer.

Campaign[]

The Yeti Tubby may appear as a danger in the first part of Chapter 2 ― “The Journey”. The choice is made during the last part of the preceding chapter; the escape from the Main Land.

He is first heard using his fake voice to trick The Guardian and catch him off guard, then knocking him out and dragging him back to his hideout. Once the latter recovers and begins to make his way to the Satellite Station, the Yeti Tubby spots his escape and engage a chase sequence where the player will have to choose the opposite path to the one where the infected can be heard screaming. If the player goes in the wrong direction, then the Guardian will be killed. After this sequence, the Yeti Tubby is not seen or mentioned ever again.

Multiplayer[]

In the Collect and Versus modes, the Yeti Tubby appears as the danger in the Mountains and Mountain Lair. Like other enemies, the Yeti Tubby moves to the custard that is nearest to the player and patrols around until the player moves to another custard.

He notices the player either by the latter being in his field of vision, or by close proximity. He will scream and start chasing the player until a certain distance separates them. He will try to hit the protagonist with both hands if they stand beside him, killing every player within range. The Yeti Tubby is not that much of threat due to the spacious nature of the environment together with his slow attacks.

The Yeti Tubby appears in Survival mode as the boss of the Mountains, and of Main Land and Reject Facility at dusk under his pre-mutation. He can use in both forms two special abilities named “Ice Hammer Throw” and “Ice Spikes”.

For more detailed information, see his Survival profile.

The Yeti Tubby also appears in Sandbox mode as an available enemy or ally to the player, and a playable character.

For more detailed information, see Sandbox.

Slendytubbies: Worlds[]

The Yeti Tubby may appear in Open World mode when the player is exploring the Mountains. He moves towards one player and has the ability to teleport to a nearby location. He will execute a physical attack when close, and can use an ice-based special ability when distant. He disappears after some time.

The Yeti Tubby also appears in Sandbox mode as an available enemy, ally, and a playable character.

Trivia[]

General

  • The Yeti Tubby faking his voice is a strategy used to attract his prey, which can be supported by his scream sounding quite differently.
    • He, Tinky Winky, and Dipsy are the only infected Teletubbies who were shown to be capable of speech.
    • His tone sounds similar to Po’s from the original television show.
  • Interestingly, he is the only known teletubby to possess hair.
  • He is one of the four characters to not have more than one mutation ― the others are Laa-Laa, the Cave Tubby, and the Arrow Tubby.
    • This was changed as of Update V2.3. All of the aforementioned characters got their early phases revealed.

Slendytubbies III

  • The Yeti Tubby uses the base model and animations from the Tyrant Zombie of the Unity Asset Store.
  • He is seen to be eating meat, which is something unnoticed with other teletubbies. The Brute Twins are a non-canon exception.
  • His droid servant explains to The Guardian that the Yeti Tubby escaped from the Main Land[5], implying that he and his friends were possibly predecessors in the Tubbytronic Superdome.
    • His pre-mutation appearance in the Main Land's Survival mode could be a reference to this statement.
  • He, along with The Imposter, are the only enemies that appear on two different maps.

Slendytubbies: Worlds

  • He is the only enemy from Open World mode to not be featured in the Collect and Versus modes.
  • In contrast to previous appearances, the Yeti Tubby is smaller than the Cave Tubby.
