Chapter 0 ― “It Was Good” is the first chapter in the Campaign of Slendytubbies III. It was first introduced with the DEMO.

Prologue[]

In a distant land lies underground machines, created by the unknown; capable of creating life forms. These machines have been creating creatures known as teletubbies for hundreds of years. The machines worked in a secret underground lair. One of their creations known as the “teletubby guardian”, who had white fur; was designed to monitor a test group of four teletubbies in secret. They were known as “Tinky winky, Dipsy, Laa Laa and Po”. The four teletubbies lived together in a dome-like home within a boxed landscape known as the “main land”. The group were like hampsters in a cage, not knowing that they were being monitored within a fixed area. They also lived with a artificial intelligent machine known as “Noo Noo”. The teletubby guardian monitored the groups behavior and documented it into a database, ensured the groups health and also had to ensure that the group did not leave the area. Over the years the guardian grew a strong bond with the group, enjoying watching over them, despite the group not knowing of the guardians existence. One day, things went horribly wrong.

Setting[]

The chapter begins with Po standing on the beach enjoying the view and then being approached by Noo-noo. The latter suggests that she should head back to the house as she hasn't eaten yet and because her friends are waiting for her. On her way back, she is greeted by Tinky Winky, whom she considers her best friend, and speaks to Laa-Laa, who is upset over a bad dream she can't remember the details of. Upon entering the house, Po asks Dipsy how to turn on the Tubby Custard Machine to make Tubby Custard for her and her friends, but the machine breaks down as soon as it is turned on. Po rushes to get the Toolbox to fix it. She then offers tubby custard to everyone, without forgetting herself.

Ten hours later, night has fallen and the four friends are asleep, except for Po who can't sleep. Suddenly, Tinky Winky wakes up and breaks the machine, which causes Po to be startled. Despite her remarks, the purple teletubby remains silent and leaves the house. At this point, the player can decide whether to wake up the others or let them sleep.

If Po decides to wake them up, she will be joined by Laa-Laa while Dipsy intends to stay at home. The two friends grab a torch and set out to find Tinky Winky, who has already wandered off. Along the way, Po loses sight of Laa-Laa and eventually heads for a tree where she finds a custard lying at the base. When she arrives at the beach, she discovers Tinky Winky with his back turned, a few meters away from Laa-Laa's body lying on the sand with a bloody face. Tinky Winky turns around and reveals a pale face with empty eyes and a screaming mouth.

A chase then ensues in which the player must return to the house without being caught by Tinky Winky. Once inside, Po discovers the decapitated corpse of Dipsy, who has been killed in the meantime, a picture that the Guardian behind his screen also witnesses. In the form of a Quick Time Event, Po tries a second time to escape from Tinky Winky, ends up facing a large tree, and turns around to face Tinky Winky just before the screen goes black.

Trivia[]

  • At night, Noo-noo can be found on the beach, in exactly the same place as after his dialogue with Po.
  • The DEMO contains a number of differences when compared to the final version:
    • If Po decides not to wake Laa-Laa, she will be found dead inside the house alongside Dipsy.
    • Much like his classic design, Tinky Winky does not have animations.
    • The Land itself appears to be more densely forested.
    • The soundtrack, except the chase sequence, is different.
  • The background thumbnail used in the introduction comes from a Youtube video by the channel TheGameSalmon[1].
